How is it possible that Avery and I have been married almost 6 months? It feels as though the wedding was yesterday. It is nice to feel settled in and finding our routine. With that said, I have learned so much more about myself, Avery, and our relationship than I thought possible. Here are the top ten things I have learned in my first six months of marriage:
1) A man’s concept of what a complete meal is and a women’s concept of what a complete meal is are very different.
2) You can text your husband from your bedroom and ask him to bring you a cup of coffee; just don’t do it too often because he will stop doing it.
3) Labitos don’t always line up, and that’s ok
4) Men like clothes shopping as much as women; any man who says differently is lying.
5) When you cannot agree on a movie, go bowling; less resentment for wasting two hours on a movie only one of you likes.
6) Men know when they are in trouble; they get very sweet, giving themselves away before you even know something is up.
7) The way to a man’s heart is through pancakes
8) Men love babies too
9) If you want to get your husband out of the bathroom, chase him with a makeup brush. You will never see him run so fast.
10) Take some time just together, not talking about work or school or the house. Go to dinner, or to the zoo, or on a short trip. Those have been the moments for Ave and I to connect and refresh.
Thank you so much for reading The Married Lady for our first six months… more adventures to come!
